After years of searching for stationery and invitations that reflected my life and style, I became very frustrated. I often wondered why paper boutiques and party stores did not carry many invitation and stationery options for African-Americans. After months of research, I soon discovered that not many companies manufactured stationery with diverse images. I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a line of paper products, in particular invitations, to fill the void not currently offered for people of color. In July of 2003, I launched kemse & company.
Since the launch, the company has been featured in O Magazine, The Dallas Morning News, Essence, Party & Paper Retailer and other regional and national publications. I also have received several emails from women, like myself, who were searching for multicultural invitations or stationery products that reflected their lives and style. Now they have an answer - kemse & company. I’m so happy I can meet their needs, and look forward to offering more paper products that have a range of skin tones.
